Arc’teryx Alpine Academy

Each summer Chamonix Experience, Chamex Events and Arc’teryx combine their collective expertise to organise one of Chamonix’s biggest annual mountaineering events – the Arc’teryx Alpine Academy.

Attracting over 500 visitors from all over the world, we revel in bringing people together to share their passion for the mountains; developing their skills, building confidence and achieving goals in one of the most inspiring locations in the world.

This sporting event is now one of the largest alpine educational events in the world, gathering over 500 participants from 30 countries, 120 mountain guides and 30+ athletes in all mountain disciplines.

It has evolved over the years to become what it is today – a multi-faceted mountain culture celebration. The academy gathers thousands of mountain lovers in the Alpine Village for film premieres and experiences, high up in the mountains for exceptional clinics, and even live music concerts at 2000m elevation.

We organised

An environmental themed weekend with an orientation challenge and hike. The clients stayed at a 5 star hotel, they had an afternoon meeting with a presentation from a specialist speaker about the UTMB event and its impact on the Chamonix Valley environment. Then they had a ecology themed hike with a geologist and glaciologue expert showing the consequences of global warming in the Alps.

They ended up with a gourmet dinner and a big party!

We Organised

The event was meant to be in Chamonix but due to lack of snow in early winter it took place in Tignes.

We arranged for them to travel to Tignes by train and be transferred to their hotel in Tignes by private minibus. 

During 3 days, we organised guided ski/snowboard lessons, snowshoeing, and non-ski activities in between their work meetings. Dinners and parties in bars were on the schedule too.

The clients also attended a conference with a professional speaker on climate studies.

We Organised

The event was a glacier adventure at Helbronner (3462 m), on the Italian side of Mont Blanc.
We set off from Chamonix towards Courmayeur to take the Skyway lift up to Helbronner. From there, the clients were split into groups of similar experience and physical levels. While some groups did a guided walk on the glacier, other groups climbed snowy and icy ridges with our mountain guides.
We headed back to Chamonix in the early afternoon and took the clients for a well-deserved lunch in a cosy Chamonix restaurant.

Glacier adventure to reward employees

We organised

Over two days we took two groups of 30 people on each day for an exciting trek on the famous glacier of the Vallée Blanche.
We picked the groups up from their hotel, arranged the lift passes, and their rental equipment.
To finish off the weekend in style, we went to the famous Folie Douce hotel for pre-dinner drinks with a live concert, followed by a delicious meal and an evening of partying!
